Day 18: Train ride to Italy

Today was a day to anticipate and dread.  We chose to travel to Italy along the scenic route which was beautiful but the bad news was we had all overpacked and had 7 train changes before reaching out destination. 
We left Brienz, Switzerland at 7:25 am and got to Hotel Posta in Reggio-Emelia, Italy at 10:30 pm.  Even more bad news is during our first train swap in Lucerne is Jim lost his wallet likely due to a pickpocket.  On the off chance that if fell out of his front pocket we got the rail station phone number and let them know if anyone turned it in to please call him.  More good news is we made all the connections and it was a beautiful day.  Check in was very quick and after a quick shower we went right to sleep in a beautiful, historic room in a 12^th century palace turned hotel.
