Tim and I made our last pastry shop last run this morning to get a sack full of “stuff” to tide us over. We ate some back in the hotel and took the rest for the train ride to London. Immigrations, customs and I can’t remember what all else we went through took a lot longer to get back to London than it did to enter Paris.
Ride was nice and a short cab ride found us at our hotel, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. This is our splurge hotel of the trip—we are in a 2 bedroom suite with executive lounge package which we took full advantage of today: pastries, afternoon tea and pre-dinner canapés. Room is incredible with a plate of chocolates in room waiting for us and a nespresso coffee machine. Our balcony overlooks Waterloo train station and we have to get Joe here one day! As much as he loved hanging out the apartment window in Venice watching the gondoliers go by, we are sure he would love all the train traffic we are seeing. Wayne counted 10 trains in 6 minutes with several usually on the track at the same time. We decided to just lounge around our room until time to go out tonight.
We went to the Apollo Victoria Theater for “Wicked”, a musical about the untold story of the Wicked Witch from Oz. They were both blown away by their first theatre. Janice says she is running out of words to describe all the experiences we are having.
