Day 5: Crown of Thorns

After sleeping in a little bit we tried out another bakery in the neighborhood for breakfast but not until first stopping at Starbucks. We then did some shopping, had lunch and went to Norte Dame for the highlight of today. This year marks the 850th anniversary of Notre Dame. Since it was the first Friday of the month, today there was a special service where they bring THE Crown of Thorns out of the treasury for worship. It was a very touching and moving ceremony after which everyone had a chance to go up and kiss or touch the glass case housing The Crown. As Janice was walking up to The Crown, she had "glory bumps" remembering where the crown had once been on her Savior's hear. It was a very emotional experience for us all.

We finished up shopping and got our oldest granddaughter’s 16th birthday present mailed from Paris. We had another good dinner in the neighborhood then off to bed.
