Return home

We left Venice by water taxi ride for the ride to the airport and then flew back to New York with a connection in Dublin, Ireland.  Once in New York and retrieving the vehicles we met Kristen in Brooklyn at Juniors Restaurant for dinner and the best cheesecake in NY.  We drove until we got out of the city and into PA then stayed the night before making the rest of the trip home.  We had a wonderful trip and the only complaint was it was too short.  We could have easily stayed a week in any of the cities we visited.  Joe loved the food and got gelato every day, even at the airport before departure.

Venice part 3

Friday night we went to a Vivaldi concert in a church--something that had been on Tim and my bucket list since our first trip to Venice.  It was fantastic and Joe enjoyed it as well.

We have reached our last full day in Venice and visit San Giorgio Maggiore church across the canal from St Mark's Square so we can take the elevator up the bell tower and enjoy the views over Venice.

After visiting the church, we all head out in different directions to wonder around and finish up shopping.  Tim had a particular mask style in mind and hadn't found "it" yet, so that is where our quest took us.  He finally found it and I visited the wine shop to get a stash to bring home.  We then went on a gondola ride at dusk with our last dinner afterwards.

Venice day trip to Murano and Burano

Becky, Brian and Joe had some shopping they wanted to do and decided to stay in Venice and take it easy while the rest of us went to Murano and Burano--the glass and lace makers islands.  I love the scenery in Burano!
